Toyota was introducing the Mirai, its first hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, and needed a launch campaign that reflected the groundbreaking technology behind it. Every piece of communication had to feel as advanced and forward-thinking as the car itself.
As lead art director on this video, I helped transform what could have been a conventional tech demo into a fully immersive VR experience for Oculus owners. Partnering with renowned physicist Dr. Michio Kaku, we guided viewers on a microcosmic journey inside the Mirai’s engine, visualizing how hydrogen is converted into electricity to power the vehicle. The creative merged science, storytelling, and emerging tech into a cohesive, cinematic experience.
The project positioned Toyota as a leader not just in automotive innovation, but in the way it tells its stories. Dr. Kaku’s Microcosmic Journey showcased how forward-thinking technology and creative storytelling can intersect to make complex ideas both engaging and accessible.
